Bishop Ordinary
Bishop of the Diocese of Kotido the Rev. Fr. Dominic Eibu was born on the 30 April 1970 in Lwala, Soroti Catholic Diocese, Uganda. He was ordained priest,on 15th August 2002 by the Bishop of Soroti Erasmus Desiderius Wandera. He was appointed bishop of Kotido on 25th October 2022 by the Holy Father Pope Francis.
On 14th January, 2023, Rt. Rev. Dominic Eibu, MCCJ, was consecrated and installed as 3rd residential Bishop of Kotido by His Grace Emmanuel Obbo, AJ, the Archbishop of Tororo.

Pope John Paul II erected Kotido Diocese on May 20th 1991, having detached it from Moroto Diocese and appointed Rt. Rev. Denis Kiwanuka Lote, now Archbishop Emeritus of Tororo Archdiocese, as its first residential Bishop. He was consecrated on 18th August 1991
The Diocese of Kotido was created on May 20th 1991, being detached from Moroto Diocese which formerly covered the whole of Karamoja Region. It now comprises the Districts of Kotido, Kaabong, Karenga and Abim, bordering Southern Sudan in the North, Moroto District in the South, Turkana Region of Kenya in the East, and Lira and Agago and Pader Districts in the West.
The first Comboni Missionaries arrived in Karamoja in 1933. Eventually the area became part of the former Apostolic Prefecture of Gulu, entrusted to the Comboni Missionaries under the leadership of the late Msgr. Antonio Vignato MCCJ. The Diocese of Moroto was set up in 1965, again entrusted to the Comboni Missionaries, headed by Rt. Rev. Sisto Mazzoldi, MCCJ. In 1981, Rt. Rev. Paul Kalanda succeeded Rt. Rev.Sisto Mazzoldi, MCCJ, and in 1991 Kotido Diocese was established, with Rt..Rev. Denis Lote Kiwanuka as its first residential Bishop.
Upon the elevation of Rt. Rev. Denis Lote Kiwanuka to the metropolitan Archdiocese of Tororo as its Archbishop, Rev. Fr. Bernard Charles Phelan, [MHM] was elected Diocesan Administrator on September 18th 2007.
On 19 December 2009, Giuseppe Filippi, MCCJ, was consecrated bishop and installed as Bishop of Kotido by His Grace Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, Archbishop of Kampala
The newly built Cathedral was consecrated on 14th May 2011 and dedicated to the Good Shepherd, by the former Bishop of Moroto Diocese, and emeritus of Fort Portal Diocese, His Lordship Paul Kalanda.

Bishop Giuseppe Filippi was born on the 17th March 1945 in Trento,Italy. He was ordained priest,on 26th June 1978 and appointed as missionary to Morulem community, Kotido. From the same date, he was serving as Provincial Superior of the MCCJ in Uganda when he was appointed bishop of Kotido.
On 19 December 2009, Giuseppe Filippi, MCCJ, was consecrated and installed as Bishop of Kotido by His Grace Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, Archbishop of Kampala.
