Most Rev. John Baptist Odama, Archbishop of Gulu with other religious leaders and a cross section of the laity attending the National Day of Prayer on Human Trafficking at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds on 9th September, 2022, guided by the Theme": *TECHNOLOGY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING   different  religious texts have were delivered by key .

The event held at Kololo ceremonial grounds with a major purpose to reflect on a phenomenon of Human trafficking.
According to Social media and Newspapers around the world thousands of women, children, girls and boys are trafficked and enslaved everyday across the globe. Our dear country, Uganda, has been affected by this vice of human trafficking as well. Uganda is one of the sources, transit and destination countries for women, children and men subjected to human trafficking – a new form of slavery.
We have, therefore, gathered here today for the following reasons among others:
 to thank God for the gift of life and the dignity of the human person, given to Ugandans and all people.
 to offer prayers to God for the protection and sustenance of the victims of human trafficking,
 to pray for and encourage religious institutions, our government, groups and individuals assisting the victims to work in a concerted manner and be successful in their work,
 to pray for the conversion of the perpetrators of the vice,
 to pray that people become aware of the immorality of human trafficking, and
 to implore God to touch all stakeholders to be proactive against the horror of human trafficking.
 May this, our gathering of today for reflection and prayer bear enduring fruits in this country and in the human society, [By Alfred Avuni]

The Prayer Service led by His Grace John Baptist Odama was accompanied by reading of Sacred Texts from the different Faith-Based Organisations.

BAHÁ'Í QUOTE ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING by Mr. Elasu Quddusu – for Elder Bahai Faith in Uganda
“It is forbidden you to trade in slaves, be they men or women. It is not for him who ishimself a servant to buy another of God's servants, and this hath been prohibited in His Holy Tablet. Thus, by His mercy, hath the commandment been recorded by the Pen of justice. Let no man exalt himself above another; all are but bondslaves before the Lord, and all exemplify the truth that there is none other God but Him. He, verily, is the All-Wise, Whose wisdom encompasseth all things.” ~ Bahá’u’lláh

The Holy Bible Reading - Luke 4:14-21
Rev. Canon. Dr. Rebecca Margret Nyegenye- the Provost All Saints Cathedral Kampala Diocese.
14 Then Jesus, in the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding region. 15 He began to teach in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.
16 When he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
20 And he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 Then he began to say to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.
