Bishop Wanok Challenges Journalists To Use Media For Evangelization

 The Bishop of Lira Diocese Rt. Rev. Sanctus Lino Wanok has appealed to Journalists to use the media in promoting evangelization

in the country. He made the appeal while meeting the journalists under their Association of Lira Catholic Media in his office on Thursday.

By using the media, the Bishop told Journalists that evangelization can be promoted among the Christian believers, while urging them to be effective and strategic in reporting. Taking in to account their Catholic faith, the Bishop added, it is the responsibility of the Journalists to make sure that the voice and initiatives of the Church are heard and received by everybody.

The Bishop also asked the journalists to consider Catechesis and other basic teachings of the Church as priority in their daily work, while promoting peace, love and unity among the people of God.

Concerning the ethical practice and code of conduct, he asked Journalists to build their capacity, reconstruct the facts from credible sources and work to tell the truth in a way that is respectful to human dignity.

Meanwhile, the journalists led by their Chairperson Charles Dickens Elem, expressed their readiness to work with the Church in spreading the Gospel. He then exhorted the journalists to remain true reporters who are motivated by Gospel values.
