The Pope noted that “Saint John calls Him the Logos, that is, the Word.” And the word, he added, serves to communicate: “one does not speak alone, one speaks with someone.”

Sharing their reflections on the Nativity, they say that God continues to be Emmanuel—‘God is with us.’

Your excellences,
My brothers and sisters.
It is my esteemed privilege to preach the homily on this sad occasion, when we bid farewell to one of the icons of the Catholic Church in Uganda.
With the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” , Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church.
So, the Pope said, it is easy to fall into the temptation of saying that “it is impossible to truly convert, and instead of converting from the world to God,we risk remaining in the 'quicksand' of a mediocre existence.”
The Lord has visited us again this morning with the sad news.
His Grace James Odongo, the Archbishop Emeritus of Tororo has passed on this morning of Friday 4th Dec 2020 at Nsambya Hospital.

The Most Reverend James Odongo was born on 27th March 1931 at Molo, on Tororo-Mbale road. He was ordained a priest in Rome on 22nd Dec.1956.
