The Uganda Martyrs day celebration at Namugongo Catholic Shrine was this year held under strict observance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the Ministry of Health of the Government of Uganda. The celebration which was led by Masaka Diocese was attended by about 200 people.
We mourn with the Diocese of Masaka, the passing on of Rev. Fr. Joseph Tamale.
We are realibly informed that he succumbed to High Blood Pressure and kidney complications.
Pope Francis on Thursday, April 8, appointed Bishop Paul Ssemogerere of Kasana-Luweero Diocese as the Apostolic Administrator of Kampala Archdiocese.
The Uganda Episcopal conference deeply regrets to announce the sudden death of Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga of the Archdiocese of Kampala. The members of the conference extend their condolences to the clergy, religious and the faithful of the Archdiocese of Kampala, and the Catholic Church in Uganda.
